For Baton Rouge’s Florida Boulevard, a new bus rapid transit line and a potential Amazon distribution center offer promise, but the corridor must first adapt to changes in mobility, land use, and climate already underway. The corridor is also a racial dividing line in the city and its revitalization must advance racial equity and integration. COVID-19 has exacerbated these disparities. The past year saw a record number of hurricanes hit Louisiana, signaling the perils of climate change. Small groups will work virtually to explore adaptive solutions for Florida Boulevard and the future of urban corridors.
