Karen Vancluysen (Polis) provides insight into how emerging transportation industries have been developing in Europe. New-mobility solutions have forced local authorities to rethink their role as transportation providers. She will give examples of how cities in Europe have been introducing new regulatory frameworks to make sure transportation innovations are policy-responsive and align with cities’ sustainable mobility goals. Now the new question is - what role will these solutions play in this time of great global disruption? What can we learn from how cities and new mobility solutions have cooperated and responded to the current crisis and could this moment positively transform urban mobility in the long run?
