Bibiana has lead several innovative technology and data initiatives in the agency over the last 20 years. She initiated the collaboration with Google for the first release of Google Transit; initiated the development of the OpenTripPlanner (OTP), an open source multimodal trip planner; and implemented an open GIS platform at TriMet. In the data space, Bibiana helped pioneer the now worldwide General Transit Feed Spec (GTFS); is actively involved with other data specs, including GTFS-flex for on-demand service; was a leader in the release of open data and developer resources to support third party apps; and adopted OpenStreetMap (OSM) as the standard base map in support of transit systems within the agency and region.
