Whose Streets? Our Streets! WSOS

Co-Chair

Phyllis Porter is the Co-Chair of Whose Streets? Our Streets! (WSOS) and a Transportation Equity and Communication Consultant with GW Frost and Associates. She lives in one of the nation’s most diverse zip codes in southeast Seattle, WA, and along one of the city’s most-used and unsafe streets for walking and biking. In Seattle, traffic fatalities disproportionately affect Black and Brown communities. WSOS was created as a majority-BIPOC and BIPOC-led workgroup to review and recommend changes to street use design, laws, and policies to meet the needs and support the lives of all street users through a pro-equity and anti-racist framework. Phyllis has a BA in Communication from the University of Washington, founder of the Seattle Chapter of Black Girls Do Bike and sits on the Seattle Transportation Equity Work Group.
