Fixed Route and Microtransit - New Data Shows What Works Where

On-demand microtransit continues to rapidly expand around the world as more transit agencies and cities deploy it to expand transit access, boost pre-existing fixed-route ridership, address inequities, and increase economic mobility. At the same time, many have wondered exactly when, and in what contexts, microtransit makes sense. For the past year, Via’s data science team has been working alongside partner agencies to develop new analytic models to determine what mode, or combination of modes, works best in different contexts. In this presentation, Pacific Northwest transit leaders and data experts will discuss the implications of this analysis.
