Ron Milam and Eric Womeldorff (Fehr & Peers) and Laura Schewel (StreetLight Data) highlight what the latest big data exposes about the disruption to travel that has occurred due to COVID-19 effects and how this disruption is changing the nature of the questions facing transportation professionals. Travel demand and supply patterns were already changing in response to advances in technology and the internet. Now some existing disruptive trends will be accelerated and other new trends are emerging. The panel will discuss trends that are developing across transportation systems from major network facilities to the local curb space and propose the questions we should be asking to understand the new normal.
