Data is core to understanding movement. Within the confines of the pandemic, it became even more important. While data sources like cell phones and scooters are helping create more accurate and up-to-date models for user behavior, there is also the question of informed consent. Understanding what privacy means and user understanding around it becomes more critical as “opt-out” legislation gains traction. This session is audience engagement minded; a multi-discipline panel will provide insights on standards development, global policy, and shared values for the responsible use of data to support a user-focused transportation system.
