Chicago Dockless Bikeshare Pilot Program

Chicago Dockless Bikeshare Pilot Program

Chicago launched their first dockless bikeshare pilot on May 1, 2018. The program ended on November 1, 2018. This report outlines the City's goals for the pilot as well as survey results and trip data collected during the pilot period.

Key findings

Chicago specifically designed this pilot to improve access of Chicagoans living on the South Side who were not served by Divvy, the existing docked bikeshare program.

During the six-month pilot period, more than 18,000 trips were taken.

75% of trips were taken on electric pedal assist bikes despite a much lower availability than non-electric bikes.
