Climate Initiatives Program: Evaluation Summary Report

Climate Initiatives Program: Evaluation Summary Report

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) was created as a result of state mandates in 2008 to mitigate climate change in the San Francisco Bay Area. This report evaluates the MTC's Climate Initiatives Program, a program with multiple projects designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions caused by transportation.

Key findings

The projects with the largest greenhouse gas reductions were Connect, Redwood City facilitated by the San Mateo County Transit District, Shore Power by the Port of Oakland, and Cold in Place Recycling in the City of Napa.

The projects with the largest greenhouse gas reductions were also the most cost-effect projects.
