Marin Transit Connect Evaluation Report

Marin Transit Connect Evaluation Report

In partnership with Via, Marin County Transit District (Marin Transit) launched a microtransit pilot program in May 2018. This report created by Marin Transit contains lots of insights into the design and outcome of the pilot project. In particular, the survey results and data analysis in the report is very colorful.

Key findings

Over half of user survey respondents reported that they used Connect both in the morning and evening commuting hours.

During off-peak hours, the Connect service averaged three passengers of less per hour.

The transit agency concluded that fixed-route service outperformed, and will continue to outperform microtransit service.
