Union Heavyweight Wants to Ban UPS From Using Drones or Driverless Vehicles

The Teamsters labor union wrote UPS an 83 page document outlining demands to ban UPS from using drones or driverless vehicles. UPS must balance these demands with growing competition for the package delivery industry and the flexibility it requires to remain competitive.

Key findings

The teamsters also included the demand to hire 10,000 more US workers and to stop deliveries after 9 p.m., even during busy holiday months.

The last agreement between the Teamsters and UPS was made in 2013, and expires in July of 2018.
